The Land of Make-Believe was incorporated as a Limited company in 2000 and is owned by
Michelle Hill.

In 1999, after myself and my then business partner joined our son's 5th birthday party, hours were spent making props, themeing food and devising party games in order to give our boys the most spectacular birthday party possible. This proved to be a great success and was magical for everyone and from here friends approached us in order to host parties for them. It was soon realised at this time that there was a definate 'gap in the market' and shortly after, with help from family and friends 'The Land of Make Believe' started to host children's birthday parties on a mobile basis at weekends.

Growth was steady and within two years, the business was taken from a part-time enterprise into a full time venture, opening premises in October 2002, and at the same time, becoming finalists in two categories of the Southend & District Business Awards.

Throughout past years, The Land of Make Believe has gained a clear understanding of the industry and has developed and led the market, taking the business and children's birthday parties into a new dimension.

The Land of Make Believe has been recognised throughout recent years and became an award winning business, collecting prestigeous awards in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

In 2004, The Land of Make Believe won the prestigeous 'Business in Boom' Essex Business Awards for all the hard work and commitment to providing the very best in children's entertainment. In 2005, The Land of Make Believe won the Southend & District Business Awards for the Leisure & Tourism category and in 2006, won the Southend Business Awards for Excellent Customer Service.

In June 2007, The Land of Make Believe was taken back out on a pure mobile basis for a number of reasons; Although the location of our premises was central, it certainly was apparent on occasion that parents would either have trouble finding us or trouble finding suitable parking and were also restricted on numbers due to the size of the premises. This in turn would put stress on our clients and one of the things that The Land of Make Believe prides itself on is customer care and providing a stress free party for our parents, enabling them to enjoy their child's party. So now, The Land of Make Believe will take on this stress and COME TO YOU, which provides a more personal service.
